Trial Overview

Hawthorne Effect is looking for Hawthorne Heroes to lead and conduct the study of a new investigative drug to address Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS). This ailment of unknown etiology is characterized by recurrent, incapacitating vomiting episodes ​lasting

from hours to days. Patients today have no curative relief beyond waiting for the nausea episode to pass. As a leader of this innovative, decentralized clinical trial, you will play a crucial role in the development of this new intervention!


  1. Critical Care/ER RN with at least 2 years of experience or NP/PA
  2. Degree: BSN or higher
  3. BLS certified
  4. ACLS certification encouraged but not required
  5. Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 for this study
  6. Need to reach the patient within 45 minutes of them experiencing the onset of symptoms
  7. Willing to sign a 6-month contract with possibility to extend.
  8. Willing to be on call and available for the duration of the trial

What to Expect

  1. Hero informational Zoom meeting/Hero Hub planned and guided by the clinical lead
  2. Complete onboarding and study certification requirements through online Hawthorne platform
  3. Travel and lodging will be provided and paid for by Hawthorne Effect to attend the training if applicable
  4. Periodic online or in-person training available and required as needed
  5. Receive study sign-on gift and Hero bag
  6. All PPE will be provided for each visit
  7. All required/anticipated supplies will be mailed to patients home or sent directly to Hero RN/NP prior to visit
  8. Strong monthly compensation for Heroes dedicated to this study and competitive pay on a per-visit basis
